1,DAVID A.SHARP II,being duly sworn,do state and attestas follows:


Iam a SpecialAgent(SA)with the FederalBureau ofInvestigation (FBI),
and Ihave been so em ployed since M ay 2016. Iam currently assigned to PB-2,the
ViolentCrimes and MajorOffenderSquad ofthe Palm Beach County ResidentAgency.
lhave been assigned prim arily to investigations of bank robberies,fugitives,and other
violentcrim es. Based on m y experience as a federalIaw enforcem entofficer,lhave
conducted investigations of, and have been instructed in investigative techniques
concerning violations offederalIaw,including violations ofthe Gun ControlAct(Title 18
United States Code,Chapter44).
2. Isubm it thatthere is probable cause to believe that CHARLES LEW IS
VO RPAG EL has com m itted violations offederalfirearm s and controlled substance Iaws
underTitle 18,United States Code,Sections 922(g)(1)and 924(c)(1)(A),and Title 21,
United States Code,Section 841(a)(1),in Palm Beach County inthe Southern Districtof
Florida.This affidavit is based upon m y personalknowledge, review of reports, and
inform ation obtained from otherIaw enforcem entofficials and civilians with knowledge of
the events and evidence described herein.Because this affidavitis being prepared for
the lim ited purpose ofestablishing probable cause,itdoes notpurpod to include every
factknow n by m e aboutthis investigation.
3. On Sunday,February 5,2017,a shooting occurred ata residence located
on M ohawk Streetin Jupi
ter,Florida,within the Southern DistrictofFlorida.The Jupiter
Police Departmentconducted a crim e scene search ofthe Mohaw k residence pursuant
to a IaM ully executed search warrantissued in the 15thJudicialCircuitof Palm Beach
County,Florida.The property thatwas searched and the item s thatwere seized were
cataloged and retained by the JupiterPolice Depadm ent.
4. During the search,the Jupiter Police Departm entIocated and seized the
following:from beside the front door,one Ioaded KEL-TEC PLR-16 5.56 caI(Serial
#P2435)firearm,and one Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun,which was loaded with rubber
bullets. Law enforcem ent also found in the closet inside the m aster bedroom : one
Tupperware which contained approximately 1737.5 grams of Marijuana,which was
packaged in bags for sale, and one unloaded Spiker Tactical Carbine (Serial

#05181)assault rifle on top of the container. In the same master bedroom, Iaw
enforcementfound approximately 914 Xanax (2mg)tablets in a bowl,which were also
separated in bags for sale. Inside the dresser drawer in the m aster bedroom , Iaw
enforcementfound approximately 32 grams ofm ari
juana.
5. In a separate bedroom ,Iaw enforcem entfound hash oiIon top ofa table,
and one Ioaded Raven Arms MP-25 .25 cal.(Serial#1642562)on the floorunderneath
the table.Also underneath the table wasan open safe containing one Ioaded ColtTrooper
MK 11.357 cal.(Serial# 45717J).Inthis room,Iaw enforcementalso foundapproximately
9 gram s ofcocaine in a container,16 grams ofcocaine in anothercontainer,and 44

m edicaledible narcotics.Law enforcem entalso found scales and a heatsealing device,


which Iknow based on my training and experience,are devices used to package narcotics
forsale.
6. In a third bedroom ,Iaw enforcem entfound one CETM E Sporter .308 cal.
rifle (Serial#C41911)),hundreds ofrounds of16 differenttypes ofamm unition,and a
high capacity m agazine capable ofholding up to 100 rounds ofam m unition.
O n M onday, February 6, 2017 VORPAG EL was interviewed by Jupiter
Police Depadm entDetectives.VO RPAG EL was advised ofhis M iranda rights,w hich he
waived,and agreed to speak to the interviewing Detectives withoutan attorney present.
During the interview, which was audio and video recorded, VO RPAGEL adm i
tted,
am ongstotherthings,thathe dealtillegaldrugs from the M ohawk residence,and thathe
worked with anotherperson to purchase and sellfirearm s.VO RPAG EL adm itted thathe
Iived alone atthe Mohawk residence,and occasionally would have over-nightguests.
VORPAG EL fudher adm itted that he purchased firearm s from gun shows and other
individuals,and that he sold am m unition and firearm s to personalacquaintances and
others.Forexam ple,VO RPAGEL adm itted thatas recently as two weeks earlier,he sold
approxim ately two boxes of AK am m unition to a customer, and that VO RPAG EL
possessed two firearms thathe intended to sellto the sam e person,which he identified
as the KEL-TEC PLR-16 5.56 caIand the CETM E Sporter.308 cal.VORPAGEL fudher
stated that he was trying to m odify the KEL-TEC so that it would fire autom atically.
VORPAG EL also adm itted thathe recentlyobtained approxim ately one ounce ofcocaine,
and thathe and his drug dealing business partnercutthe cocaine into sm alleram ounts

and placed them into sm allbags to selloverthe weekend.VO RPAG EL also adm itted that
he had given his business partnera hand gun.
8. Ihave confirm ed with a SpecialAgentwith the Bureau ofAlcohol,Tobacco,
Firearm s and Explosives,thatthe follow ing firearm s were m anufactured outside the state
ofFlorida,and therefore,theirpresence in the State ofFlorida would affectinterstate or
foreign com m erce:the Raven Arm s M P-25 .25 cal.and the ColtTrooperM K 11.357 cal.
firearm s,as wellas the M ossberg 12 gauge shotgun.
9. Iconducted a crim inalhistory check thru the NCIC system ,and confirm ed
tIIatVORPAG EL has priorfelony convictions.Forexam ple,on July 1,2010 in Palm Beach
County,Florida,VORPAG EL pled guilty to a felony state charge ofCarrying a Concealed
Firearm ,which is punishable by m ore than one yearin prison.

Based on the foregoing facts,Isubm itthatthere is probable cause to believe that


CHARLES LEW IS VORPAG EL illegally possessed a firearm afterbeing convicted ofa
crim e punishable by a term ofim prisonm entexceeding one year,in violation ofTitle 18,
United States Code,Section 922(g)(1),possessed controlled substanceswith the intent
to distribute them ,in violation ofTitle 21,United States Code,Section 841(a)(1),and
possessed firearm s in fudherance of a drug trafficking offense,in violation ofTitle 18,
United StatesCode,Section924(c)(1)(A).
