    Negotitations Update

    February 11, 2017

    Board and Teachers Union Reach Tentative Deal


    After their third marathon bargaining session, the Thunder Bay Catholic School
    Board and their elementary teachers federation (OECTA) appear to have reached a
    deal.

    The Board and OECTA Elementary Teachers are pleased to announce they have
    reached a tentative settlement and that the strike at the 3 schools scheduled for
    Monday, Feb 13 will be cancelled and that the lock out scheduled for Tuesday Feb.
    14 will also be cancelled.

    Furthermore, the unions work to rule sanctions will cease immediately.

    We are both pleased that the hardships faced by students, teachers, Board staff and
    families will now come to a conclusion.

    The Union is planning to ratify the contract at their meeting on Thursday night.
