initial goal; now doing site words (related to SIP); going back to number
recognition with goal of increasing.Maren looking at Jan Richardson
intervention (briefly talked about as a team)

1st: original goal was to use composite score then noticed huge drop
midyear...realized that the weight of the CBM is very different from
beginning of year to mid-year...revised goal to decode words...looking at
reason why kids are still low...came together as a team to help meet
needs of students (splitting kids up - mini boot camps...roughly every
day 15 minutes) 3 of the 4 are showing growth already.never had that
conversation before that it is ALL of our kids, not just mine and yours

2nd: focusing on math switch time...working on basic facts with a big

chunk of kids, low EL is having hard time with counting on; next week
going to hop into fables for reading PLC (recount, retell fables - checking
for understanding_

3rd: finishing text features, just did post assessment, will look at it next
week; next focus will be test taking strategies - skills for successful test
taking; PLC goal recently changed to fluency - working on matching to
CBMs - looking at ways to pre-assess test taking strategies (in groups
as there are 13 of them) - focus on show their thinking
**Noted: when take away the CBM, and they are reading something they
want to read, it is so much better!!

4th: looking at fluency as well, CBM assess has shown growth from 33%
to 53%; talking about what doing, what working, talking strategies, will
suggest 1st grade boot camp strategy and the 13 test taking strategies;
also use time for Math WIN and Reading WIN (individually)...will use
MAP data for next (Carrie recommended book - Book with no
Pictures.read a couple of pictures plain and then with fluency)

5th: focusing on comprehension, focusing on summarizing when hearing

oral readings (pulling online readings), for pre and post reading articles -
encouraging taking notes as those using notes can use for summary;
skill of going back into notes.did first round on Key Word Notes
(hoping it will transfer into this)
