Soil conservation and land erosion

Factors that contribute to soil erosion

Persistent heavy rainfall over a long period of time; flooding which then
loosens the soil due to the excess water, it will wash away soil particles
Deforestation; which is cutting down of trees without planting them back, this
leaves the top soil exposed to erosion
Farming methods; slash and burn method, this is the process where plant are
slashed and burned
Fertilizers will weaken the soil which can further erode the soil
Mining and quarrying activities, blasting for stones,
Creeping slow movement of sol downhill
Over gazing animals clear al the vegetation leaving the soil bare
