A 1920s American Dream

5 Assessment Points - Due Friday, January 20

Your task is to pick a historical figure from the 1920s and creatively write the story
of their journey to their American Dream. This genre of writing is called historical
fiction, and as a result you will need to take some freedoms in what you think
happened.

You will first need to research your figure, construct his/her American Dream, and
tell their story utilizing 20s slang, two other individuals, and at least three topics of
your choosing.

You have LOTS of flexibility in this assignment. If you do not like what is
assigned then come up with your own ideas. However, they must be approved
BEFORE making changes to the structure of the assignment.

There are FIVE steps for you to complete. I provided a handout with paragraph
starters for each example. I want you to use the paragraph starters and continue to
fill out the skeleton paragraph with your words. If you need additional support
please raise your hand. You will have the option to turn in the assignment before so
I can provide you suggestions before final submission.
