BEYOND-THE-BASIC PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS

Name: Ashley Jordan

Grade Level: 3rd grade
Content Area: Social Studies
Beyond-the-Basic Productivity Tool Used: Inspiration
Standards Addressed:
SS3E1: The student will describe the four types of productive resources:
a. Natural (land)
b. Human (labor)
c. Capital (capital goods)
d. Entrepreneurship (used to create goods and services)

ISTE Standard for Student:

1. Empowered Learner
c. use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practices and to demonstrate their
learning in a variety of ways.
Blooms Level of Critical Thinking:
Remembering Understanding Applying Analyzing Evaluating Creating
Description of how to implement in the class: This lesson idea will start off as a discussion within
the classroom over what the students already know about the 4 types of productivity resources (we
briefly discussed topic beforehand). After the introduction over this topic, I will group my students
into 4 groups. Each group will be pertained to one of the 4 productivity resources in the standard.
The students will then research the importance/and definition of their resource and create their own
group inspiration based on their information found.
After each group completes their inspiration on the computers (in class) and the next class session
we will have each group presenting their own specific topics. The students presenting each resource
will allow the students to know ALL four resources and see visuals to better understand the topic and
stay engaged in the subject matter. This also helps their communication skills because each person in
their group must talk about something in front of the class pertaining to their productivity resource. I
think this will be a fun and creative way for the students to better understand this topic and make it
more age appropriate and relevant.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): This lesson idea goes up to a level Loti 4, because
it is student-centered, they students are creating their own product with their peers
(interaction), and this is allowing them to have an adult role because they are working at their
own pace and learning with their peers.
Description of the sample BBPT file provided *: You will see the example of one inspiration
template made by me (teacher) of one of the productivity resources. Reminder: this is a group
activity and they will all show their inspirations to the class so others can receive the
information of the 4 different resources. This just make it easier and fun for the students to
retrieve the information. Please see below for an example of a BBPT (Inspiration) being used!
