These are skills and attributes I believe are necessary to be an extraordinary teacher:

I believe that instruction should be student centered and that units and daily lessons

should be planned with the students in mind.

I believe that the teacher is the facilitator not the dictator of learning, that the teacher

provides an open structured environment for students to explore the content.

I believe in differentiated instruction for each student to meet students where they are and

improve their learning from there.

I believe in the power of checking for understanding, and that the teacher should know

whether each student is getting the objective for the day or not through formative

assessments.
I believe that no teacher is done learning and that it is important to reflect every day on

what is going well and what can be improved.

I believe that scaffolding is crucial to student learning, there should be modeling and

guided practice before independent practice and assessments

I believe that the teacher should understand when the students are not engaged, no

teacher is perfect and has every student engaged all day long but it is important to

understand when students are not there
