National Honor Society Officer Application

The purpose of the National Honor Society organization is to create


enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to serve, promote leadership,
and develop character in the students of secondary schools. As an officer of
TERRAs prestigious NHS chapter, the following information outlines
requirements of leadership duties and obligations:

Application Information

All current juniors in good standing (no probation) are eligible to apply
for any of the
(6) officer positions listed below. Students may apply for up to (2)
officer positions but will only be elected to one. Officers must be willing
to fully contribute to their position at a capacity above and beyond the
regular expectations of membership.

Make sure your application is neat and legible, preferably typed.

Elections will be held at the March 15th informational meeting.


Applicants must be in attendance to be elected and will need to read
their personal statement(s) written below.

ALL OFFICER APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO


MRS. VIVIAN IN THE UNIVERSITY CENTER BY 2:20 PM ON
MARCH 10TH, 2017. A certificate of receipt will be distributed to
ensure submission; without this certificate, applications are not
guaranteed as final. (No mailbox, emailed, or under-the-door drop-offs.)
OFFICER POSITIONS

President: responsible for planning meeting activities, structure,


attendance and service hours oversight, supervision of other officers
Vice President: responsible for assisting the president as needed,
attending ICC meetings, maintaining service activity direction and
mentorship requirements
Secretary: responsible for maintaining accurate attendance and
service hours records, submitting monthly club minutes and reports
Treasurer: plans and maintains service budget
Historian: maintains and updates website and social media accounts,
takes pictures for website and club records
(2) Senior Representatives: liaisons between officers and senior
club members, maintain senior attendance records
