2. Installing the Game
============================================================
a.) Installing FIFA 14
Windows (disc users):
* Insert the disc into your disc drive and follow the on-screen instructions.
.*.Origin will be installed if you do not have Origin
.*.Launch the game (once it is installed) directly from Origin.
* Games on Windows 8 are installed to your Start Screen, Games on Windows Vista a
re located in the Start > Games menu, and on earlier versions of Windows in the S
tart > Programs (or All Programs) menu.
Windows (EA Origin Store):
* Once you have purchased the game through Origin, click the Download icon that a
ppears and follow the on-screen instructions.
* Launch the game (once it is installed) directly from Origin.
Games on Windows 8 are installed to your Start Screen, In Windows Vista Classic St
art menu style, games are located in the Start > Programs > Games > Games Explor
er menu.
b.) Digital Retail Installation
Please contact the digital retailer through whom you purchased this game for ins
tructions on how to install the game or how to download and reinstall another co
py of the game.

c.) If your "Autorun" feature is disabled
If for some reason your "Autorun" feature is disabled, you can install the progr
am by running AUTORUN.EXE directly from the root directory of the DVD.

3. DirectX 9.0c

DirectX 9.0c will be installed as part of the EA SPORTS FIFA 14 installation.
a.) Installing DirectX directly from DVD
FIFA 14 comes with DirectX 9.0c. If you would like to install it manually, make
sure the FIFA 14 DVD is in the DVD-ROM drive, and access the following path on y
our DVD-ROM drive:
"\DirectX\"
Double-click on DXSETUP.EXE to begin DirectX 9.0c installation.
b.) DirectX and supported hardware
We recommend that FIFA 14 be run with DirectX 9.0c compatible sound cards and vid
eo cards.
We also suggest you update your sound card and video card driver to the newest r
elease from the vendor or chipset website.

6. Uninstalling FIFA 14
============================================================
For Windows Vista, you can uninstall FIFA 14 by accessing "Programs and Features"
in the Control Panel.
For Windows 7, you can uninstall FIFA 14 by accessing "Programs and Features" in
the Control Panel.
For Windows 8, you can uninstall FIFA 14 by accessing Programs and Features in the
Control Panel.

7. Memory Requirements

a.) Memory requirements in Windows
FIFA 14 requires a minimum of 2 GB of RAM to run the game for Windows Vista / Win
dows 7 / Windows 8.
Note: The more system memory available, the better the game will perform in all
areas.
b.) Running the game under stressful Windows conditions
At Electronic Arts we strive to bring you the best in graphics, audio and gamepla
y. We are always pushing the envelope of computer performance. While we have ma
de every effort to ensure that FIFA 14 multi-tasks with all applications for Win
dows, we recommend that you shut down other applications and run FIFA 14 by itsel
f when possible.
c.) Page File
We recommend that you let your operating system automatically manage the size of
the page file.

8. Improving Game Speed
============================================================
There are several ways by which you can speed up the overall FIFA 14 experience:

a) Lower the resolution in the FIFA 14 launcher application under the Displ
ay Configuration tab within Game Settings.
b) Lower the rendering quality in the FIFA 14 launcher application under th
e Display Configuration tab within Game Settings.
c) Turn off the MSAA in the FIFA 14 launcher application under the Display
Configuration tab within Game Settings.
d) Uncheck the Wait for Vsync option in the FIFA 14 launcher application un
der the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings.
e) Disable the radar from within the game under Game Settings.
f) Turn the Commentary Volume all the way down within the game under Game S
ettings.
g) While we don t recommend turning off your anti-virus software, performance
can be impacted when certain anti-virus programs decide to wake up and run task
s while you are playing FIFA.
h) Ensure that the Disable Windows Aero Theme is checked in the FIFA 14 launc
her application.

9. Hot Keys

The following hot keys can be used in the game to access certain functions more
quickly.
To bring up Origin in-game:
SHIFT + F1 (Origin Default Hot Key)
The following relates to VOIP and is for the Numpad only:
* = Turn off VOIP
- = Turn down VOIP volume
+ = Turn up VOIP volume
ESC = Pause

10. Mouse, Keyboard and Controller Functionality
============================================================
You can use the mouse, keyboard or controller to navigate the game interface and
play in-game and new for FIFA 14 PC is the ability to play the game with Keyboa
rd & Mouse at the same time. Advantages to this over the traditional Keyboard Onl
y controls are that you can have 360 degree dribbling and do skill moves more eas
ily. You can also take advantage of new features such as, Teammate Run and Mark a M
an where you use a button press and mouse movement to send a teammate on a create
d running path or point to an opponent that you want the nearest teammate to mar
k on defense. NOTE: This control method is for offline play only.
Once you are on the Side select screen, you must move whichever input device you
plan to use in the game to the left or the right to select your team. FIFA 14 h
as the ability to use each control device with Classic, Alternate, or 2-button c
ontrols.
Please note that you may have to recalibrate your controllers in Windows in order
to have the game detect them correctly.
To bring up the in-game pause menus, you can press the Start button (if your gam
epad has one) or press ESC.
If you are using a gamepad as your primary control device, within the FIFA 14 la
uncher application you can select the gamepad that has button icons that most cl
osely represent the gamepad that you use. Alternatively, if you want to use Keybo
ard & Mouse or Keyboard Only as your control device, make sure that on the PRESS ST
ART or SPACE screen that you press SPACE. This will set your default control dev
ice to being Keyboard & Mouse. Once in game you can customise your game experien
ce in CUSTOMISE -> SETTINGS -> CONTROLS. Note: You must enter this screen with t
he control device you wish to edit. I.e.: You cannot edit gamepad controls if yo
u enter this screen with a mouse or keyboard and vice versa.
The use of a 360-degree dual analog gamepad such as the Logitech Dual Action is hi
ghly recommended for full functionality.

12. Notes on Video Card Chipsets

If you are experiencing problems with your video card and FIFA 14, try updating
your video card driver by downloading the latest driver available from the video
card manufacturer. If there is no improvement, try using the latest driver prov
ided by the video chipset manufacturer. Your video card chipset is the video-pro
cessing chip located on your video card. If there is no information in your vide
o card manual or website, check the video card for an identifying chip with the
chipset manufacturer's name on it.

14. Notes on Windows

FIFA 14 supports Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
Save game location by default will be: C:\Users\<user>\Documents\FIFA 14\
*NOTE - To install the game properly on Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8, you
will need administrator access to your machine.

**NOTE: Title will always crash during gameplay when using an AMD Athlon 64 X2 P

15. Troubleshooting USB Devices

Gamers using USB devices may experience uncontrolled menu selections upon playin
g FIFA 14. To resolve this issue, please ensure that all USB devices (including
those not required to play FIFA 14) plugged into the computer have been correctl
y installed using the drivers provided by the manufacturer.
