PRINCIPALS CORNER
Spirit Week: February 13-17, 2017. Monday-Sports Day, Tuesday-Animal Day, Wednesday-
Career Day, Thursday-Pajama Day, Friday-Crazy Hair/Clash Day. Show your school spirit!
Thank you parents for the soups and food for the ski trip, the field trip was a great success.
Thus far we have used 3 snow days. Students please remember to stay away from the area
on the inside of the sidewalks near the roof of the school. Snow or ice could slide off the
roof and hit you in this area.
Choir Festival (Grades 7 & 8) upcoming on the 15th of February and Band Festival on the 15th
of March

GRADES K - 3
Spelling tests 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade: Friday, February 10, 2017: Unit 6, Week 2
Friday, February 17, 2017: Unit 6, Week 3
Show and Tell Theme for February 10: Something made of plastic
Theme for February 17: Something related to Valentines Day
Valentines Day: On Tuesday, February 14, we will have a time when students can pass out
Valentine cards at school. This is optional. You may choose whether or not your child will
bring Valentine cards to pass out. For those who want to bring them, the following is a list
of students in grades K-3: Makaylee, Lisette, Jasmine, Lily, Mason, Haley, Isabella, Anissa,
Addison, Josiah, Krista, Rhiana, McCoy. Teachers: Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Gardner.
This year students will be required to finish assignments by the due date. Please help your
student keep current with their work.
GRADES 4-6
Bible: Lesson 21
Reading: New books: Lisa and the Drainpipe (Gr. 4), Dinosaurs (Gr. 5), Dr. Rabbit (Gr. 6)
Language Arts: Book reports on books read to be completed/PowerPoints also
Read Aloud: Bible: Ecclesiastes/ Poems from the Bible
Math: Chapter 4 Test & begin Ch. 5 (Gr. 4)
Science: See Science for Grades 7 & 8 Mr. Mendez is teaching Science this quarter
Social Studies (Gr. 4 & 5): Ch. 10
World Studies (Gr. 6): Ch. 9 Test on Friday, Feb. 10.
Geography location: Quiz online to be continued. US State abbreviations.
Computer printout of weekly grades and missing work is given every week.
Outdoor Ed is planned for Feb. 21-23, 2017. This is for grades 5 & 6. The cost is
normally $50 per student but, due to the fundraising the students have done, each
student will only need to pay $25. The registration forms are being sent home today
and need to be returned to the school with the $25 by Friday, February 17, 2017.

ADVENTURERS:
February 13: Regular Meeting, 6:30-8:00 pm
Please save empty paper towel and toilet paper rolls; also, any bottle or jug caps.
Adventurers are working on a project that will use these items. You may bring them to
the school office, they will need them by February 20. Thank you!
