a library?
Activity: Students will use the computers in the lab to use the
Dewey Decimal curated resources to complete a
worksheet called Using the Dewey Decimal System.

Using the catalog system, each student will find the

Dewey Number for a list of sources in the media center by
looking them up by title. The students will be given a
random list of ten sources with a blank line beside them
where the student will record the number.

With completed lists, each student will be given a

cardboard box large enough to contain the sources as he
locates them on the shelves. Before beginning the search,
the Media Specialist will give a brief oral review of the
layout of the media center shelves. For example, she might
show them where the Nonfiction book begin and end.
