PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP)

The two-year full-time Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGP). Its main objective is to
develop young men and women into competent professional managers, capable of working in any
sector of organized activity, proceeding leadership and achieving excellence in performance while
contributing to the welfare of the larger society. The programme specifically attempts to:
1. Equip students with the required conceptual and interpersonal skills and sense of social purpose for
managerial decision-making.
2. Develop leadership capabilities to act as change agents and be a source of motivation in the
organizations they work in.
3. Nurture the desire to excel in performance without compromising integrity, honesty and fairness.
IIM Trichy has started its PGP program from the year 2011-2012. The details for the course can be
viewed in syllabus.

Fellow Programme in Management ( F P M )

The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is a full time, residential doctoral programme of the
Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT). The FPM at IIMT is globally recognized, and is a
premier source of rigorous, and inter-disciplinary research in all areas of business management. The
programme is committed to training individuals who will excel in their areas of research through
creation of quality knowledge of international standard.

FPM students will specialize in the following disciplines:

Economics and Public Policy

Finance and Accounting
Marketing
Management Information System and Information Technology
Organizational Behavior and Human Resources
Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques
Strategic Management

The Mission of the FPM at IIMT is to:

Duration of the Programme

Students are expected to complete the programme within 5 years. It is possible to complete the
programme within 4 years also. The maximum duration of the programme is 7 years.

Post Graduate Programme in Business Management (PGPBM)

The Post Graduate Programme in Business Management (PGPBM) at the Chennai Centre is one
of the flagship programmes of IIM Tiruchirappalli (IIMT).

PGPBM was launched in 2012 to groom working executives in and around Chennai, who aspire to
move into senior leadership roles. Towards this, the programme aims to develop competent
professional managers, capable of working in any sector of organized activity, provide leadership and
achieve excellence even while contributing to the welfare of society at large.
The programme specifically attempts to:

o Equip participants with conceptual and interpersonal skills and sense of social
purpose for managerial decision-making.
o Develop leadership capabilities to act as change agents and be a source of
motivation in the organizations they work in.
o Nurture the desire to excel in performance without compromising integrity, honesty
and fairness.
The 2nd batch of PGPBM students graduate in March 2016. The 5th batch of PGPBM will
commence in August 2016.
PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS
o Specifically designed to cater to the demands of the working executives.
o Convenient classroom learning slots in the evenings (Fridays- Saturdays Sundays)
o 24 month programme with an option to complete in 21 months.
o Curriculum completely aligned with the two year full-time post graduate programme
being offered at Trichy; - 18 core courses, 15 elective courses and 1 industry project.
o Students on successful completion of the programme will be awarded the Post
Graduate Diploma in Business Management at the annual convocation; graduating students will
become alumni of IIM Tiruchirappalli.
IDEAL CLASS PROFILE
The ideal class will have a diverse profile in terms of gender and work expertise across industries and
functional areas. Candidates sponsored by their organization will be given preference.
