    WHOS THE REAL NUMBER 1?

    In many sports leagues a ranking system is used to create a hierarchy of


    teams and individuals. We will begin to examine the use of mathematics in the
    creation of these power rankings. We will look at sports such as a group sport like
    NCAA basketball, as well as individual sports such as tennis and golf and see the
    differences in their rankings.
