CENG 6209 -Ground water and seepage analysis [2]

This course examines the fundamentals of groundwater flow and seepage analysis. Topics include:
Introduction to principles of groundwater flow, including steady and transient flow through porous
media and in saturated and unsaturated soils, Darcy's law, and Flow nets for homogeneous and layered
soils. mass conservation, heterogeneity and anisotropy, storage properties, numerical analysis, 3-D
equation of groundwater flow, regional circulation, unsaturated flow, recharge, stream-aquifer
interaction ,flow and seepage from canals and ditches, seepage toward wells, effect of seepage on
structural foundations, foundation dewatering, and pavement drainage. , well hydraulics, pumping
tests, groundwater geology, contaminant transport, and design of waste containment systems.
