SAPPI TO INCREASE PRICES FOR ITS COATED


AND UNCOATED FINE PAPERS

Sappi announced that it will increase prices for all coated and
uncoated fine paper business by 8% for both sheets and reels,
effective March 15th.
In a press release Sappi explained, The sudden and continuing
sharp rise in input costs and the consequently squeezed profit
margins make business unsustainable, therefore corrective
pricing measures inevitable.

NIPPON PAPER USA TO DISCONTINUE PRODUCTION


OF NEWSPRINT AND DIRECTORY PAPERS

Due to volume decline and eroding pricing levels


of newsprint and directory papers, Nippon Paper
USA has made a business decision to
discontinue production of these grades. This
includes all printing and writing grades and
weight and was effective since January 2017.
More newsprint closures from other mills are
expected during year 2017.

BURGO TO CONVERT AVEZZANO FINE PAPER MILL


TO RECYCLED CONTAINERBOARD

Burgo announced its plans to convert its PM 2 in Avezzano mill, which produces 180,000 TPY of coated
woodfree paper, to the production of 200,000 TPY of recycled containerboard at the end of 2017.

63.5% of the paper used in the United States was recovered for recycling.
This is far higher than the 28% of glass and 9% of plastic recovered. In
Canada 73% of the paper is recovered.
