Pi Day at Jeff Middle School
Our Partner in Education, Jefferson Middle School, is
planning ahead for their 2nd Annual Pi Day Extravaganza!
This will be held at 5-7pm on March 14 at Jefferson Middle
School. All current parents and students at JMS, as well
as their incoming 6th graders are invited to attend last
year they had approximately 150 in attendance. They
are in need of volunteers to work the games. If you are

Barnabas Ministry
The Barnabas Ministry is ending. Thank you to everyone
who served to write cards and make meals for those in

Preparing Ourselves for Lent
This Lent, Missouri UMC is preparing a series based on the
book, The Last Week: What the Gospels Really Teach Us
About Jesuss Final Days in Jerusalem by Marcus Borg and
John Dominic Crossan. The congregation is encouraged to
prepare and participate in the following ways:
Read the final week on your own in Mark 11:1-16:8.
Spend time each day praying about what you have
read.
Be present each week and expect to hear from God.
Join a small group studying The Last Week.
We hope to be challenged in new ways by the life and
teaching of Jesus. We may even have some long-held
beliefs about Jesus and the Kingdom of God overturned.
Well explore some big questions, like:
What actually happened during the Final Week of
Jesus life?
Why were the religious authorities threatened by
him?
Why did the disciples desert him in his hour of need?
Why was he crucified as a common criminal?
And more importantly, what does it all mean for me
as I follow Christ in my own time?

MUMY MISSOURI UMC YOUTH
SUNDAYS at 10:30am & 5pm
On Sunday, Feb. 26, the youth group will meet at
Access Arts (800 Moss Street) from 5-7pm to
make bowls for the Empty Bowls Fundraiser. This
is an excellent opportunity for us to be creative
while being in mission. The bowls will be sold
at the fundraiser (at MUMC in March) to benefit
the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture, which
works to fight against hunger and poverty in our community.
No money is necessary for the event; however, space is limited
to 30 people, so please RSVP to Rev. Hank.
