NUMBER
1 HV Test Transformer HV9105 1
2 Control Desk HV9103 1
3 Measuring Capacitor HV9141 1
4 AC Peak Voltmeter HV9150 1
5 Measuring Sphere Gap HV9133 1
6 Connecting Rod HV9108 2
7 Charging Resistor HV9121 1
8 Connecting Cup HV9110 2
9 Floor Pedestal HV9110 1
10 Earthing Rod HV9107 1
Procedure:
2. The measuring capacitor (HV9141) a sphere gap (HV9133) and AC peak voltmeter
(HV9150) are connected on the high voltage side.
3. The surface of the sphere should be polished before beginning with the
measurements
4. By varying the voltage in the test transformer the corresponding breakdown voltage
will measured in the AC peak voltmeter
5. Gap spacing between the spheres can be varying in control desk and the
corresponding break down voltage can be measured.
6. Decrease the voltage back to zero and switch off the control desk.
7. Plot the graph between break down voltage and sphere gap distance.
