Objectives: By the end of the lesson students should be able to:


- Understand the format and the process of informal letter writing.

- Write an informal letter by following the given structure.
- Read the letter and answer the questions at the end. Secondary objective

White Board, Board markers, letter format, sample letter, activity sheet

Procedure:
Warm up The teacher will select 4 students by calling their role numbers to share the
(8 minutes) home task with the class and the teacher will give feedback.
Teachers input The teacher will discuss the format of informal letter writing.
( 8 minutes)

Activity 1 The student will be given a letter (see appendix- C1) to read carefully so that
Sample letter, they can understand how to write an informal letter and should be able to
work sheet answer the question given at the end (See appendix C).

Activity 2 After reading the sample letter the students will be given the letter format (See
Comprehension appendix D) to write a structured informal letter.

Activity 3 The students will read each others letter and give feedback keeping the letter
Teachers and format in mind; afterwards the teacher will randomly select three students to
Peer feedback share their letter and will give feedback.

Home task 2 Write a letter to your friend living in village with whom you are going to spend
your summer vacation.
