PILE DRIVING METHODOLOGY

PILE DRIVING OF STEEL SHEET PILES

A. SITE PREPARATION - TCC

1. Area survey, installation of stakes for SSP center line.

2. A 2m deep benching with slope at least 1:4 slope shall be excavated
along the center line of the SSP. Note that the excavation should be 2m
lower from the desired top elevation of the SSP. See Fig. 1

B. GUIDE POST INSTALLATION

1. From the reference point given by the surveyors, a center line is

allotted for the installation of SSP. In that point drive the
fabricated guide post then Install the fabricated horizontal guide.

C. SHEET PILE DRIVING

1. Using vibratory hammer attached to the backhoe, start driving the
sheet pile from one end of the guide going towards to the other end,
make sure that it is well aligned and well plumb.
2. Drive the next sheet piles following the lines as per drawing and the
top elevation of the preceding SSP.
3. To maintain the top elevation of SSP tack weld the joints.
4. Continue driving the next sheet piles until reached the end of the
horizontal guide, then dismantle the first guide post to drive it to the
next location. Transfer the horizontal guide.
5. Repeat the process of sheet pile driving until complete.
