gua. See the specific prayer requests from Pastor Arnold

Please pray that I do not fall on the lies and deceptions of
my own heart and that I can see through the light of The
Word when something comes from me and when it comes
from the Lord. A personal prayer that I present to the Lord
is to have wisdom to guide my family and the Church and
to have the words from Him to talk to the people in the
street and in the Church. For my wife please pray that God
keep the unity among us as a team and as friends thus
testifying of the Lord with our own lives.
Thank you for your prayers and your commitment to
Nicaragua. We have seen God working little by little in
Matagalpa and above we have seen how he is showing
his faithfulness and mercy with the people in this city.

Childrens Ministry
There will be a 30 minute meeting right after service this Sun-
day, the 19th, for all Childrens Ministry servants.
Shepherds Conference
For those attending the Shepherds Conference there will be
a meeting after service today, 2/19, in the band room.
James Gems
If you are a widow at Canyon and are not involved in our
James Gems widows ministry, we have several activities com-
ing up for these special ladies. James Gems will be attending
a Glenn Miller Orchestra concert together on Saturday, Feb.
25.Cost is $40 per ticket, and RSVPs are needed right away.

Mens and Womens Bible Study
Men and Womens Bible studies will have their last study
in Ruth next week,the week of February 20-24. They will
then be on break for three weeks. Women will begin again
on Tuesday March 21 and Men on Thursday March 23. Each
study will be going through a 4 week study in the book of
Jonah. Times and location will remain the same. For more

College Ministry
College Ministry will meet next on February 24th at the
Drumms house starting at 7 p.m. See the church website for

 Monday
Isnt it amazing how in the face of death, our troubled
Saviors desire is that God the Father would be glorified.
Consider a trial that you may be experiencing today. Take
some time to pray that God would be made famous and
known because of what you are going through. Glorifying
God in trials shows that He is more precious to us than
anything in the world.
Tuesday
Read over the following quote and pray and thank the Lord
that nothing is outside of His lordship:
If God is the Creator of the entire universe, then it must follow
that He is the Lord of the whole universe. No part of the world
is outside of His lordship. That means that no part of my life
must be outside of His lordship.

Wednesday
Col 3:2 teaches believers, Set your minds on things that
are above, not on things that are on earth. What earthly
things have captivated your attention lately? What here-
and-now realities have distracted you from heavenly
spiritual realities? What things on earth have you been
tempted to set your mind on? Turn aside from these
weights that will hinder your race. Instead, be mindful to
fix your eyes on Jesus. Be intentional to set your mind
on things above. Be strategic about your thoughts. Ask
yourself regularly, What am I thinking about right now?
And then preach to yourself, Set your mind on things
above, not on things that are on earth.
Thursday
Every verse of the Bible is God-breathed as a means by
which he carves our character and sharpens our spiritual
senses. We know this to be true, and yet too often, we
treat the Bible as a topical reference manual, only looking
to the marriage passages when discussing marriage.
When considering ourfinances, we only consult the
verses on money. We should repent of our topical-ap-
proachChristianity.Every text of scripture has an im-
bedded timeless truth, and that truth has ramifications in
every area of life. Yet more fundamentally than this, every
passage of scripture has a changing impact on our hearts,
and as we are changed from the inside out, every aspect
of our lives is affected. Therefore, let us not be incomplete
Christians consulting the Bible only topically, but let us be
saturate ourselves with the whole Bible that we might be
whole Christians.
