Rails from the Crypt

On Sunday Nov. 1, Nashoba
Parks held their annual Rails from the
Crypt preseason rail jam. Over 400
riders and skiers dusted off their gear
to hit four rails set up by the Nashoba
Park Crew. Sponsors including Big
Manga, Smith, Monument, NOTB
Snowboards, Technine and Go Pro
gave out prizes to skiers and riders
such as clothing, cameras and even
a $500 cash prize for best trick.

Christmas Photo Jam- Dec. 19
Christmas comes to Nashoba Parks.
This is an open jam session to get your
Christmas photos out of the way by
getting some joyous tricks photographed
on our decorated features.

Slopestyle- Feb. 6
Skiers and riders pick their best line out of three runs through the top
half of the Sundance Park.

USASA Slopestyle & Rail Jam- Feb. 21

USASA hosts a dual event beginning with a slopestyle competition
through the top half of the Sundance Park.
There will be a rail jam at the bottom of Sundance Park on the rail
plaza after the slopestyle.

Big Air- Feb. 27

Skiers and riders lay down their best jump
tricks off our biggest jump in the park.

the most creative features not usually
built in the park during the season.

 Taking Boston: Rendered Useless
Last winter brought abundant snowfall to the North East. Consequentially, snowboarders
did not hesitate to hit the streets. Jon Stark, with the help of Tanner Pendleton and Eli Olson,
set out to film one of the years most creative and heavy films this winter. Local riders including
Mike Ravelson, Parker Szumowski, Bar Dadon, Cole Navin and Nick Doucette tackle Bostons
streets among other locations along the East Coast.
Jon Stark has hallmarked
Rendered Useless as the standard
for progressive, creative street
snowboarding; consisting of the newest
urban spots and tricks recorded on
film. Furthermore, Stark succeeded in
making one of the years most influential
films under an extremely low budget.
With a DIY attitude, Stark ensured
he captured the barebones, creative
side of street snowboarding that
often goes unappreciated. Rendered

0 Rider Profile: Jack Kohan 0

Jack Kohan, 14, started riding when he
was 6 years old and hasnt stopped pushing the
physical limit on his snowboard since. At only 13,
Kohan became the first rider to double-cork 1080
on Nashoba Parks 50-foot jump at an unusually
young age. Last winter, Jack competed in USASA
competitions all over the North East before qualifying
for semifinals at Breck in Utah. While committing
time to compete, Jack also put in months of work to
film for Nashoba Parks monthly installments as well
as his own full part. Despite his young age, Kohan
continues to learn new tricks and master old, paying
attention to detail with every execution.
I grew up riding with a lot of great snowboarders
who influenced my style a lot, Kohan reflects.
People like Zack Normandin and Kevin Court who
