Total fat 14 g 126

Total carbohydrates 35 g 140
Protein 4g 16
total 282

1. How does your total for the Calories in one serving compare to the Calories shown on the label?

My total for the Calories (282) is a greater than amount written on the label (280).

2. Why is your total of Calories the same as the label or why are they different?

I suppose this difference is because of different average of calories per g of matter. They probably used
other values for the average Calories per 1 gram of protein/carb/fat. I used this values:

1 g of protein = 4 kcal

1 g of carb. = 4 kcal

1g of fat = 9 kcal

3. Look at the data given for one medium banana and 3 oz. of salmon given in Table 3.8 on page 77 in
your textbook. Discuss the similarities and differences between the banana and salmon.

Banana, 26 g carb 0 g fat 1 g protein 60 kcal (260

medium kJ)
Salmon, 0.3 oz 0 g carb 1 g fat 16 g protein 110 kcal (460
kJ)
Banana is rich in carbohydrates, while salmon lack in sugars. Both of them have low
content of fat (banana 0 g and salmon 1 g).Salmon is mainly consisted of proteins
(16 g) and banana has lower content of proteins (1 g). Overall, salmon is rich in
energy 110 kcal, while one medium banana would provide us with 60 kcal.
