Cliff Deveny, MD, to Return to Akron to Lead Summa Health

Deveny given fully authority to carry forward Summa Healths vision
Akron, Ohio, Feb. 24, 2017 Cliff Deveny, MD, a former senior leader at Summa Health, has been named Interim
President and Chief Executive Officer of the health system effective March 13, 2017, Summa Healths Board of
Directors announced today.

We are very fortunate that Dr. Deveny agreed to return to Akron to lead Summa Health, said Board Chair James
McIlvaine. Cliff is an outstanding leader with a reputation for collaboration, a proven commitment to medical
education and a strong expertise in population health, all of which are critical Summa Health priorities.

Cliff will have full authority to lead the system and carry out the Boards vision for advancing population health,
improving the health and wellness of our community, furthering our role as a key partner in Akrons revitalization,
and transforming the culture of our organization, McIlvaine said.

I am honored to have the opportunity to lead an organization which has been so much a part of my life, and to
return to the city where I grew up and which I love, said Deveny. I was in a great spot with an innovative
organization at Locus Health, which is making value based care a reality for health systems, and this is the only job
that could have enticed me to leave that role. Summa has an outstanding team of physicians, nurses and other
employees, and I look forward to collaborating with them as together we move the system forward.

Deveny previously spent more than 20 years at Summa Health in a variety of clinical and senior leadership roles,
including President of Summa Physicians Inc., Vice President of Clinical Services and Service Lines, and Chairman of
the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. From 2011 to 2016 he was Senior Vice President for Physician
Services and Clinical Integration at Catholic Health Initiatives in Colorado, and since last year he has been President
of Locus Health, which develops software solutions that enable healthcare organizations to improve their
population health efforts.

Deveny is a clear leader on population health, and an advocate for its vision of increasing the value of care by
improving health while reducing costs. In his role at Catholic Health Initiatives he led a population health initiative,
establishing 12 regional clinically integrated networks.

A graduate of Firestone High School, Dr. Deveny has deep roots in Akron. During his previous tenure with Summa
Health, Dr. Deveny was a committed and involved member of the greater Akron community, including his work on
the board of Friends of the Summit (91.3FM), and his very active role in the Ohio chapter of the American College
of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

We are convinced that Cliff, with his excellent collaborative leadership skills, will be able to build on Summa
Healths strong record of accomplishments toward fulfilling our vision for the system, McIlvaine said.

Over the next three to six months, the Board will determine and then work through the process to identify the
next permanent President and CEO for Summa Health. Dr. Deveny is absolutely expected to be among the
candidates.
