K-1st Grade Small Group Week 8

Get Their Attention! (5 minutes)


Materials: Spinner

INTRODUCE yourself & the kids by saying:

Hey everyone! Im so glad youre here for our last day of Spin It to Win It!

Lets learn a little bit more about each other. Were going to take turns spinning
the spinner. When the spinner points to you, tell everyone your name and one
person you want to be like! (Ex: superhero, famous athlete, parent, etc.)

Need to Know:
INTRODUCE kids to what we are learning today:

(point to self) One person we can all be more like is Jesus! Today, were going to talk about
ways we can do that!

(point up) So heres what we need to know today:

Materials:
Spinner READ pages 314-319 in Gods Story for Me Bible.

Bible After the story, ASK:

Simon Says Sheet 1. Was the woman at the well perfect or had she messed up? (She had

Crayons 2. How did Jesus treat the woman even though He knew she had messed
up: did He yell at her or He was kind and loving to her? (He was kind and

everyone, no matter who they are or what theyve done)

When we come to church, read our Bibles, and learn more about Jesus, we
can learn how to be like Him!

ASK kids to close their eyes & bow their heads. Model prayer for kids by PRAYING:

Jesus, thank you for giving us the Bible and a fun church where we can learn
how to be like you. Help us to love others the way you do! We love you.

Materials: Simon Says Sheet
Summary:
Kids will play Simon 1. Allow kids to stand.

God? (Yes) We can be like Jesus by singing praises to God at home, in
the car, and at church!
If we are trying to be like Jesus, how should we treat others? Ill give
you a hint. Think about when you gave someone a high five! (Be kind,
let them go first, help them, show love with our actions and words)

Materials: Coloring Sheets, Crayons, Memory Verse Prizes, Filler Guide
Memory Verse: REVIEW the Memory Verse (on left) with the group.
