TASK-C03.

8 Transfer fuel from bunker to service tanks

LNG Adamawa Internal transfer within Engine room

Fuel transfer will normally be required every few days under

normal operating conditions. It is normal practice to use one
settling tank at a time, the outgoing tank being filled to
maximum.
Normal maximum for Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) Settling tanks is 450
m3 (11.5m) taken from Distributed Control System (DCS).
Normal operation minimum for HFO Settling tank is 200 m 3 to
allow sufficient time during the normal working day to top-up
the outgoing tank.
Procedure for transfer (assuming Port Bunker to Port
Settling Tank):
1 Open HFO transfer pump suction and discharge valves 5V
and 12 V
2 Open Port bunker tank quick closing valve 3V
3 Confirm valves 14V HFO to bunkering station, and 47V
from sludge pump are closed
4 From DCS: Aft F.O. Storage & Transfer (T30-415-01) open
Port bunker tank suction valve VF-4 and Port settling tank
filling valve VF-15
5 Start HFO transfer pump from DCS
6 Once desired level is reached stop HFO transfer pump, and
close valves VF-15, VF-4, 5V and 12V
7 Record transfer in Engine Room (ER) Log book.
8 Record transfer in the Oil Record Book.

Note: For the other tanks, use the same procedure, but operate the
appropriate valves as per the Systems Diagram.
