Client Statement/Needs

The group will go to Aeta community in Bilolo, Orion, Bataan and look on how we can
help in their daily lives. We notice that they dont have a stable source of water to be used for
cooking or drinking and a lot of children having a diarrhea. So the group came up to design a
bicycle powered water pump that can pump water even when there is no source of electricity.

Conceptual Design
The researchers decided to take each others opinion to make our project more efficient
and useful. We sum up our ideas on how it will work and how to use our project properly. Our
project consists of a bike, stand, water pump and hose. The project price is estimated to be on
8,000 to 10,000 pesos

Design Drawing
The 3 dimensional designs were made, including the pump to be use.

Fabrication of the Prototype Unit

The design of the prototype and some parts of it will be given to the machinist. Some
adjustments will be made if the machinist will give suggestions to improve our project.
Assembling the prototype will be done by the group.

Testing and Evaluation

After the fabrication is done, the group will check the fabricated parts if it is nicely done.
The group will conduct experimental test to evaluate the performance of the Bicycle Powered
Water Pump and what modifications is needed to implement for our prototype to be more
efficient and reliable.

Documentation
The documentation of the research will be made. All data will be analyzed and see if
there will be any revisions of the information given and if modifications will be made to the
design of the prototype.
