In her speech at the ISA meeting, it was very clear


that she holds the Police Core Values to heart as she
took time to explain each one of them. Inspector Rakesh Naidoo, the National Ethnic
Strategic Advisor at the Police National HQ is
now being seconded as the Strategic Advisor to
Race Relations at the Human Rights
Commission.

the well-being of international students.

After speeches were made by the District


Commander and Inspector Rakesh Naidoo, everyone
posed for a group photo in front of the police station.

The meeting continued with Senior Sergeant Alisse


Robertson, the O/C Youth & Communities addressing
the group.
Senior Sergeant Alisse Robertson shared prevention
advice such as keeping property safe when in public
and responsible drinking and having a plan to get
home after socializing etc. These topics will be
covered in detail in the coming months.

Jessica then continued to talk about expectations of


ISA members, ground rules and asked for suggestions
of topics for the year. It is important for ISA members
to know that their name will be removed if they miss 3
meetings in the year. The last meeting will be in
October.
A Certificate of Acknowledgement will be given to
existing ISA members.

ISA members should be proud that they are taking


responsibility and leadership to assist their fellow
students keep safe, therefore it is important for them to
share all safety messages with their fellow students
after each meeting.
