1.0 - Introduction

1.1 Mission Statement

The Bellingham Central Lions Club branding guide is a

comprehensive manual displaying the brand essence and
intentions of the Lions Club. This manual also can be used to
assist with other inquiries about the Lions Club.
This manual is designed to deliver the brand essence of
the Bellingham Central Lions Club through examples of proper
uses of logos, photos and the clubs intentions. The central
mission of the club is to serve the community of Bellingham
and Whatcom County with a variety of health and social issues.
The Lions Club is dedicated to serving the community,
without a motive or reward attached to any service provided.
The motto We Serve describes the intentions and ethics of
the Lions Club as an organization that is about contributing to
the well-being of the community.
The Bellingham Central Lions Clubs central objectives
are to help the community prevent curable diseases related to
sight and hearing. Other projects include improving literacy
and community projects to benefit Whatcom County. The Lions
Club is dedicated to making the community a better place
through community service and engagement. This branding
guide is a reflection of the Lions Clubs ethics and message
through logo descriptions, past promotional material and
information about programs and their requirements.

2.0 - Identity

5
2.1 The Emblem

The only acceptable emblem is directly

above on this page. It may not altered
or changed in anyway. The emblem
must be reproduced from high-quality
digital files.
When the emblem is combined with a
nameplate it becomes a signature. 6
2.2 - Nameplate

Bellingham Central Lions Club is the

nameplate.
The nameplate should not be retyped.
It should never be placed alone, it
should always be accompanied by the
logo.

7
2.3 - Signature

The signature consists of the emblem

and nameplate. This is the essence of
the identity.

8
2.4 - Coloration

BCL blue and BLC gold make up the signatures colors. Above are accepted
color options. The 2-color and 1-color signatures are to be placed on light-
colored background. The black signature can be placed on any color
background as long as it is legible.

The signatures may be placed over photographs. The chosen area should be
simple and provide contrast between the background and the signature to
insure legibility.

2.5 Unacceptable Signatures

Do not adjust opacity. Do not tilt anything.

Do not use unaccepted colors schemes.

The examples above show how not

to present Bellingham Central Lions
Clubs signature.

3.0 - Design

11
3.1 - Posters

Lions posters should grab peoples attention through

color contrast or interesting photos. Remember to
include the Emblem or the Signature of the
Bellingham Central Lions in every poster.
12
3.2 - Flyers

Like the posters, Lions flyers should grab attention.

The image above is a good example. It brings
attention to the subject, in this case Caliber Home
Loans, for their cart sponsorship at a previous charity
golf tournament.
Then near the bottom the BCL emblem is present.
13
3.3 - Photography
Portrait: These are all acceptable
photos.

14
3.3 - Photography
In action: both of these are
acceptable photographs.
Remember to try to not
pose the subject in active
shots.
