Dear Grant Elementary Families,
On the afternoon of March 2nd, as a bus carrying students from the Grant Elementary Bulldog
Bonus Hour Tutoring Program was exiting district property, a parent entered the bus and struck
the driver in an unprovoked altercation.
Under the direction of district staff and administration, all students were safely removed from
the bus and taken home. The parents of these students were then notified via email, phone
calls and text messages.
As a result of the incident, our staff was prepared to offer counseling and support to any
students in need of this service today.
I am happy to say that the day progressed as usual and our students were able to enjoy a
typical day here at Grant Elementary.
Because the circumstances of this incident are currently being investigated by law enforcement
agencies, I am limited to discuss this issue at length; however, I am happy to answer questions
that you may have.
