In the second reading at Mass, St. Paul says:

After many falls comes grace with its verdict of acquittal.

Romans 5:16

Our many falls condemn us. But when we surrender ourselves, sins and all, to Jesus, right now,
God does not judge us as guilty, but not guilty. By Jesus death on the cross, we are acquitted!
In thanksgiving for being acquitted from our sins, this Lent we are invited to acts of:

Prayer Fasting

Almsgiving

I pray you take St. Pauls words to heart, and commit to a serious preparation for Jesus
resurrection, to experience more fully your joyful acquittal at Easter in 40 days.

RCIA - RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
OF ADULTS:
We welcome our RCIA Candidates to
participate in a short ceremony called the
RITE OF SIGNING AND SENDING at our
6pm Mass. Let us pray for our Candidates
during their journey of faith.
The Candidates will attend
The RITE OF ELECTION which takes place
on Sunday 5th March at Westminster Cathedral
at 3pm with Cardinal Vincent and Bishops of
the Diocese.
Next session on 25th March in the Hume Hall:
4.00-5:45pm, followed by Mass
THE CELEBRATION OF BAPTISM
If you would like to have your child baptised on
the 11th March 17 or later, the next sessions will
be on Monday, 6th & 20th March 17. Please
contact the Parish Office to book your place on
the course.
ALPHA YOUTH GROUP
All Catholics, Christians, and non-Christians,
aged 13-18, are invited for music, food, games,
& discussion on life/faith, on Monday 6th March
from 7pm - 9pm in the parish hall. Cost: Free.

The Fairtrade fortnight is an annual event in
which fair and ethical trading values are
celebrated.
This year we would have a
BIG BREW led by our Confirmation
Candidates on Sunday 5th March after each
Mass.
Parishioners are invited to bring in Fairtrade
cakes and biscuits on the day 4th/5th March.
A daily cuppa for you can mean clean water
for tea farmers and workers.
Come along and join us for the next
ST. JOHN VIANNEY FILM NIGHT
takes place on today 5th March at 5pm showing
"The Million Pound Note", a story about how
people respond to wealth. Starring Gregory
Peck.
ST PATRICKS CELEBRATION
Our St Patricks celebration with Traditional
Bacon & Cabbage Dinner/Social will take place
on SUNDAY, 12th MARCH
FROM 5:00pm to 9.00pm.

CAFOD LENT FAST DAY is Friday, 10 March.
This Lent Fast Day we are invited to join
Florence, from Zambia on her journey from
poverty to abundance. A fish the size of your
thumb in Florence's hands can become school
books, a home and a future for her children.
Please donate to our Lent Appeal to help
transform little fish into something amazing this
Lent by collecting a Fast Day envelope at Mass
on Sunday 4/5th March and return it with your
donation the following Sunday 11/12th March for

THE ANNUAL MASS IN THANKSGIVING
FOR THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
will take place on Saturday, 3 June 2017, at
3.00pm.
If you are celebrating significant anniversaries
(25th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th and every year over
60) of Catholic marriage in 2017, please give your
parish clergy or administrator, the following
details: husband and wifes names, wedding date,
full postal address and email (or telephone
number, if no email), no later than 24 March
th
2017, so that personal invitations from the
Cardinal can be sent in time.
This year the Cardinal has asked that the
LENTEN ALMS collection be directed to the
CARDINALS APPEAL FUND.
The funds raised will go to support parishes or
groups in their work to further the mission of the
Church: to serve the evangelisation of youth, to
develop marriage and family life projects, and to
provide service in society, especially to those on
the margins. Please take a leaflet, read and pray
about this.
The second collection on the weekend of
18th/19th March will be for the Cardinals
Appeal Lenten Alms. Envelopes are available at
the back of church today you can make a
Lenten Gift by placing the envelope in the
designated box at the back of Church.
