WELDED WIRE MESH FENCE STORE & MEP WORKS

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 DESCRIPTION
A. Section includes requirements for furnishing and installation of welded wire mesh
fence and gates (personal, and swing or sliding gates) with required MEP works as
mentioned in below section.
1.02 REFERENCE STANDARDS
A. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM International):

1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit shop drawings showing plan layout, grid, spacing of components,
accessories, fittings and hardware.
B. Submit manufacturers product data.
C. Submit manufacturers installation instructions.
D. Submit manufacturers color palette to the Engineer for approval.
1.04 DELIVERABLES
A. Submit manufacturers certificates of compliance for fence materials.
B. Qualifications: Submit name, business address and telephone number of
manufacturers field representative. Include certification by the manufacturer that
proposed field representative is qualified to provide specified services.
C. Certification of Installation: Subject affidavit by the manufacturers field
representative certifying that the installation of the welded wire mesh fence meets
the Contract requirements.

1.05 QUALITY ASSURANCE


A. Obtain the services of fencing manufacturers field representative to provide the
following services:
1. Supervise the entire installation of the welded wire mesh fence store.
2. Render advice and assistance on the installation of the welded wire mesh fence
panels, fasteners and bracing; clip installation and fastening to post; and on
tensioning of panels.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 Panels
Shall be 8 gauge steel wire crimped and woven in to 1-5/8 center-to-center (1-1/2
square opening) opening rectangular mesh, securely welded into a frame of 1
1/4" x 1 1/4" x 1/8" steel angle factory punched with 7/8" x 7/16" slotted holes to
accept 3/8" mounting hardware. Panels four to six feet wide shall have one 1/4" x
3/4" flat stiffener, wider panels receive two 1/4" x 3/4" stiffeners. All panels shall be
fastened to posts with 3/8" x 3" plated bolts and nuts.
2.02 Hinged Doors
Shall be constructed of the same materials as the panels with two 1/4" x 3/4"
horizontal stiffeners across the width, and two diagonal 1/4" x 3/4" stiffeners from
center to the corner. Hinged doors shall be equipped with padlock lugs (cylinder lock
optional), three 4" x 4" spun pin hinges, and pick plate/slam bar assembly.
2.03 Posts
Shall be made of 2" x 2" x 14 gauge steel tubing. Base plates of 2" x 7" x 1/4" steel
flat with two 7/16" round holes for anchoring, shall be welded to each tube. Posts
are factory drilled with 1/2" holes to accept hardware for mounting panels. .

2.04 Hardware
Shall be 3/8" standard thread grade two plated nuts and bolts. Floor anchors are
3/8" wedge type-provided.
2.05 Finish
Non-plated parts receive one coat of gray acrylic enamel.

2.03 Electrical Works


PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Verify areas to receive fencing are completed to final grades and elevations.
Property lines and legal boundaries of work to be clearly established by the general
contractor or property owner.
3.2 FENCE AND GATE INSTALLATION
A. As per manufacture recommendation.
3.3 CLEANING
A. Clean up debris and remove from the site
