It is the way someone takes a question and interprets it to produce the best possible answer.

They're
many different methods so there isn't one correct way to answer every question. Probably the most
common type of Question dissection protocol is the scientific method. The phrase Question
Dissection Protocol was coined by Doug Buehl a 33 year awarded teacher in Madison Wisconsin. His
method is for discerning exam questions it proceeds as:

1. Test Verbs - These are the specific verbs that introduce an exam question. They can give you an
idea of the format of the response.

Discuss, compare, contrast, describe, explain, criticize, evaluate, and summarize are commonly
used test verbs.

2. Topic - This is the knowledge area that is being tested and entails the portion of your learning that
needs to be exhibited in your answer.

3. List - This is the elaboration on the topic of question. The causes or reasons and the steps to
instruction.

4. Number - This refers to how many topics or interests should be considered in your response.
Whether multiple reasons or causes need to be referenced.

5. Order - This is how the response should be ordered to answer the question in the appropriate
fashion. Some questions are flexible while some require a specific path.

6. The First Sentence - The first sentence is the reestablishing of the exam question so it becomes the
first sentence of your response.
