Using google forms, teacher will
assess whether students have the
skills necessary to define what the
problem is from simple interest
(I=Prt) word problems. For example:
definitions, understand the
representation of variables in the
formula, able to separate useless
information from the important
information in a word problem, etc.
Search Engine (google, bing, msn,
aol, etc) Students will identify
keywords in word problems and/or
developing a list of good questions
to type into search engine to help
students sift through search results to
while searching for resources to help
them to understand simple interest.
Working with a partner or in small
groups.
Student will use xmind, wisemapping,
mind42 or any other mind-mapping
tech tool to brainstorm ideas on a
presentation to demonstrate mastery
of simple interest problem solving.
Students will choose a media to
communicate their mastery of solving
simple interest formulas. Examples:
PowerPoint, Prezi, Podcast, video, etc
Using google docs, dropbox, etc
students will delegate roles,
responsibilities, develop a plan,
execute the plan, lastly examine the
overall process from beginning to end
and submit to teacher.
Obviously I like google docs/forms
therefore, the teacher will create a
document or survey that students
can fill out at the end of the lesson to
evaluate themselves based on the
skills of personal responsibility, global
citizenship, digital citizen ship,
altruistic service, and environmental
stewardship.
