Recent clinical work

I have finished my residency training in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Bucharest

Emergency Hospital, a level 1 Trauma Centre. I have been involved in this specialty since my
student years, occasionally being part of the on-call trauma team and performing minor
surgeries and osteosynthesis under supervision.
My experience in Traumatology is extensive, being able to treat succesfully almost all
types of fractures as the operating surgeon, except pelvic fractures for which I was not very
keen to perform. I have no experience in spine surgery since my hospital doesn't let
Orthopaedic surgeons deal with that, but Neurosurgeons do.
I also worked in the United Kingdom as an SHO (Resident equivalent) and as a
Speciality Registrar where I was able to improve my skills, especially in Hand, Hip and Knee
and Shoulder Surgery.
 In the last 3 years I have gained much experience in knee and shoulder arthroscopy. I
have limited experience in other joints artroscopy but I would like to learn more in the very
near future.
My work is now turned to the private sector where I feel there is an environment where I
can provide world class treatment to the patients who come see me in my clinics. This
opportunity is the main reason why I chose not to pursue a career in the state sector, since
there is a lot of compromise with regards to patient care and also a lack of resources that I can
access in order to maintain the best clinical practice.

Research

I was not involved in research until present, this is a part I want to improve on.
International experience
I have two years of experience as an SHO and as a Speciality Registrar in United Kingdom,
being part of several teams in rotation, dealing with Trauma, Hand, Hip and Knee and
Shoulder Surgery. I have also participated in numerous Congresses, such as the 7th, 9th and 11th
EFORT Congresses, 5th SICOT/SIROT Conference to give some examples. I have attended
several courses as stated above, to maintain and deepen my clinical and interpersonal skills. I
also plan to attend a Masters' Course in Orthopaedic Surgery or Clinical Management.

Future plans for clinical work

I wish to further develop my skills in the Orthopaedic specialty, improve my arthroscopic

technique and perform ever more challenging operations. Also I would like to begin research
on some areas and I want to find a clinic which allows me to do so.
There are some fields I am inexperienced in, like spine surgery and complex pelvic fractures,
not performing them alone. If the situation will press me in those directions I will accept it
because I do not expect that everything will go my way.

Interests and hobbies

I am a very active person, enjoying sports whenever possible. I like to play basketball and
volleyball, and one of my other hobbies is racing cars. I also like to read a good book and see
a good movie when I have the time. Also I like to play video games but nowadays time
doesn't let me do it anymore.

About me
I am a friendly and outgoing person, open-minded, never afraid of challenges, always in
search of my better self. I am loyal, outspoken, with strong principles which I am rarely
inclined to bend, but never break. I am easily adaptable and a good leader. I also want to
share my knowledge and teach whoever wants to be taught. Also I am sometimes not paying
too much attention to whatever is not in my range of interests.

Computer skills
I am very skilled in computers and I use it quite a lot for various reasons. Internet, MS Office,
Windows, are some of the things I am skilled in.
