WHO IS THREATENED BY BIPAN

CHANDRAS BOOK ON
COMMUNALISM?

Communalism starts with the belief

that in India people can be
organized and grouped together for
secular, that is, economic and
political as also social and cultural purposes, only around their religious
identities. In other words, [that] Hindus or Muslims or Sikhs or Christians
form distinct communities or homogeneous groups not only for religious
purposes but also for secular purposes, because they follow the same
religion. They form not only religious but also political communities.
