FORM DC-JJ8 (MASTER. PAGE TWO OF TWO) 5/07
Following the interview of George Huguely he was charged and arrested for the First
Degree Murder of Yeardly Love.

On May 3, 2010 a search warrant was executed on the residence ofYeardly Love at 222
14th Street NW. Charlottesville VA, to collect evidence connected to her death.

On May 3, 20 10 after the search warrant of Yeardly Loves residence was executed.
George Huguely was interviewed by your affiant. During the interview with him he told
your affiant that Yeardly Love was wearing aT-shirt during his altercation with her. This
information was not known to the forensic detectives conducting the search of Yeardly
Love's, residence at that time; therefore, the T-shirt that George Huguely described was
not collected.

On May 5, 20 1a your affiant re-interviewed 'at the police department.

Throughout the course of that interview' , told your affiant that Yeardly was
wearing a black in color shirt on the late evening hours of May 2. 20 10 at approximately
2230hrs. Yeardly Loves body was later found by approximately 4 hours
later.

On May 7, 2010 your affiant previewed the photos that were taken at the crime scene by
Forensic Detective Sgt. Steve Dillon. Your affiant saw in the photos that there is a black
in color shirt lying on the floor next to the bedroom closet in Yeardlys room. The shirt
appears to be approximately 2 feet away from where Yeardly's body was discovered. The
shirt is not folded and appears to have been dropped on the floor.

Your affiant knows through training and experience that DNA and other trace evidence
can be transferred between the victim and suspect during the course of an altercation as
described by George Huguely; furthermore, ifYeardly Love was wearing a T-shirt during
the time of the altercation as also described by George Huguely it is probable that trace
evidence could have been transferred onto the T-shirt.

Your affiant is seeking this search warrant to search for and collect the T-shirt that
Yeardly Love was reportedly wearing by George Huguely to further the investigation
surrounding the death of Yeardly Love.

~~erial facts constituting probable cause that the search should be made are:
~ 3,2010, Charlottesville Police Officers S. Bayles and M. Flaherty were summoned to the address of 222 14th, Street NW, in the City of
. Char~)ttesville, for a report of an unresponsive female. .. ~harlotte.sville-Albemarle Rescue Squad personnel arrived and attempted life saving
proc~dures on the female with no success. The female, l;:iter identified as Yeardly Love, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The witnesses at the scene, ,andl -- described finding Yeardly Love face down on her pillow in her bedroom. There
was a pool of blood on her pillow. Love had a large brUise on me ngm side of her face which appears to have been caused by blunt force trauma.
Love's right eye was swollen shut and there were. bruisesa,nd scrapes to her chin.
The door to Love's bedroom had been forced open and had a hole in it that appeared to have been made by a fist. Your affiant observed that hairs
were visible in the hole.
On May 3, 2010, your affiant spoke with George Huguely at the Charlottesville Police Department after he had been advised and waived his rights
under Miranda. George Huguely admitted that on May 3, 2010, he was involved in an altercation with Yeardly Love and that during the course of the
altercation he shook Love and her head repeatedly hit the wall . Huguely admitted that he kicked his right foot through the door that leads to Love's
bedroom. Your affiant has observed injuries on the right leg of Huguely that are consistent with kicking an object, such as a door. Huguely stated that
the front door to the apartment was unlocked.

Continuation of Paragraph #4 :

Huguely told your affiant that he had communicated with Love by email. Huguely
admitted that he took Love ' s computer from the residence and disposed of it. Huguely
provided the location of the Love's computer and it was recovered. Huguely stated that
he and Love had been in a relationship and that the relationship had ended.

Your affiant was told by that George Huguely operated a black

Suburban. Your affiant walked the parking lot of230 14th Street NW and observed a
black Chevrolet Tahoe with Maryland registration. Your affiant ran the registration
through the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles. The registration returned to
George Huguely IV. The parking space of the Chevrolet Tahoe is in close proximity to
the apartment of George Huguely.

On May 3,2010 a search warrant was executed at 230 #6 14th Street NW, in the City of
Charlottesville, the residence of George Huguely. During the search warrant, a pair of
shorts, consistent with the shorts described by Huguely as the shorts he was wearing
during the assault, were recovered. In the pocket of the shorts, there was a passport in the
name of George Huguely and keys to the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Your affiant knows that George Huguely took a computer from Love's apartment and is
unable to determine if any other property was taken. No property belonging to Love was
recovered in during the search of Hugueley's apartment.

Your affiant knows from training and experience that during the course of an assault
where blood or other bodily fluids are present, the fluids are often transferred between the
victim and the suspect. The transfer often occurs onto the clothing of the suspect. Your
affiant knows from training and experience that the blood or bodily fluid that is
transferred from the victim to a suspect can be transferred to any surface through touch or
other contact.

Your affiant knows from training and experience that persons involved in criminal
activity often maintain the proceeds or indicia of the crime in the residence or in close
proximity to the residence, such as in a motor vehicle.

Your affiant knows from training and experience that persons involved in crimes of
domestic violence often view property that was given to a partner being forfeited back to
the giver at the termination of the relationship.

Your affiant is seeking this search warrant to search for evidence from the motor vehicle
of George Huguely to further the investigation surrounding the death of Yeardly Love.
