What details in the painting catch your attention?

What questions of curiosity are sparked by the painting?
What conclusions can you make that are based on information in the painting?
It catches my eye in the painting that all of the figures or objects in it are portrayed with
shapes of different detail and sometimes color and texture. It appears something that
represents the amount of panic and mayhem this event caused that the painting was based on.
The background makes it appear that the people are trapped in darkness pleading out for
something to save them. One person appears to be holding his or her hands up while another
one looks like a mother holding a dead child while crying out. I would be curious to know the
the artists reason for making the painting the abstract way it is. Also the way this painting looks
like pieces of paper scraps pieced together is interesting. I can conclude that the painting is
meant to show a wide array of emotions and themes representing the state of the city that was
attacked by the German Airforce.
