ARTIST STATEMENT
What is an artist statement?

A general introduction to your work, a body of work, or a specific project.

Your artist statement is about facts, a basic introduction to your art; it's not instructions
on what to experience, what to think, how to feel, how to act, or where to stand, and if it
is, you better do a rewrite. Please answer the questions below & then compose your
artist statement in paragraph form. The artist statement should be 3-5 paragraphs
including 3-5 sentences each.

1. Why do you make art? What inspires you? I make art because it is interesting to
see what I can create from my own imagination, I can be inspired by current
events, something on my mind, or maybe something I saw at one point or another.

2. How did you choose your logo idea? What was your thought process on your
designs? I came up with my logo design from my name by using my first and last
initial and putting them together in a flow-like way.

3. What does your logo and trademark mean to you? My logo represents my name as
well as version my own unique signature.

4. Explain your symbolism. What does each part signify &/or represent? I used to
colors that are almost contradictory to each other but still blend well symbolizing
personality.

5. What is unique/special about your logo and trademark? My logo makes use of
personal letters using gold and chrome.

6. What tool/technique did you like the best that you used to create your logo? I
personally am proud of the 3D used in the logo so that it is not flat and boring.

7. What was the most challenging part about creating a logo from scratch? The most
challenging part was figuring out how to get it from basic letters to what it is now.

8. How does your logo connect to your TM? The TM is a different version of the logo
but still closely related.

9. Were you able to transform your idea into a graphic? Or did your plan change? I
was able to create the original design as well as make a few improvements.

10. How did you incorporate detail into your design? By using shadowing and
making the 3D look better with black.

11. How did you incorporate color into your graphic? I used multiple colors that
well suit the logo and that of the designer.

12. How did you include value changes and contrast? I attempted to enhance a
sort of smooth feeling to the logo.

13. What is the most successful part of your logo/trademark? The lowercase g
and the way it fits with the capital C.

14. What needs some work? The detailing of the drop shadow could be enhanced
further.
