HALF AN HOUR MUSIC SLOT

RESEARCH
A popular college radio station in the UK is
Rare Fm. Students of the University College
London run it, broadcasting seven days a
week. They play a variation of music to
appeal to a wide audience, as their target
audience (college students) listens to a lot of
different music. They tend to play different
music at different points in the day to reflect the moods of their listeners, for
example more soothing music in the mornings, and more upbeat music in the
evenings when people are getting ready to go out.
A popular feature used in radio stations is a slogan or jingle. It is usually played
at the beginning of every new section on Rare FM to promote to station and
improve their brand exposure.
