NASTAD Ethiopia is an international non-governmental organization working in Ethiopia to strengthen the health system by building sustainable leadership and
technical capacity in HIV and other health-related programs in order to benefit the community. NASTAD Ethiopia is looking for suitable candidates for the following
professional opening:
Position Title: Technical Officer, HIV Case Based on surveillance related programs, as they relate to HIV CBS
Surveillance Maintain knowledge of NASTAD policies and procedures and
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia adheres to them
Reports to: Senior Specialist, Strategic Information Perform other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment: Contractual for one year with potential renewal
Minimum Requirements
Purpose and Description Education and Experience
Based full-time in the NASTAD Ethiopia Central Office in Addis Ababa, this BSc or MPH/MSc in Public Health, Health Informatics, Epidemiology,
contract position works with Senior Specialist for Strategic Information to assist Statistics or related fields
Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), Minimum of five years for BSc and three years for MPH/MSc of HIV/
and Regional Health Bureaus (RHBs), initially Addis Ababa City Administration AIDS program experience
and Oromia regional statein theimplementation of HIV Case Based Surveillance Strong and demonstrated experience in epidemiology, surveillance
(CBS) in selected facilities. He/Shewill work in collaboration with RHBs and program, monitoring, and evaluation activities
selected health facilities in facilitating the day-to-day implementation ofthe HIV Strong and demonstrated experience in training and group facilitation
Case Based Surveillance Program. The CBS Technical Officer, with guidance Experience in data management and analysis, with a demonstrated
from the Senior Specialist for Strategic Information, will contribute to planning, confidence with statistics
implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the CBS system, including Experience in HIV/AIDS epidemiological surveillance
reporting of program performance. The Technical Officer works closely with Experience in developing and implementing program plans and
RHBs and EPHI to deliver his/her day-to-day work. He/she reports directly to managing trainings
