Beaufort is one of the town in land below the wind,Sabah.

Beaufort doesnt have

an ocean or sea but we have a river that also full of marine life that need to
conserve. Our school have been given a chance to participate a sabah marine
conservation program due that we are been told to write an essay on our thought
about conservation the marine life in beaufort.
Padas river is one of many river that need saving. As we know river is source of
food to people in Beaufort.Padas river have plenty of aquatic biodiversity but
nevertheless people are still destroying the river by pollution.Throwing rubbish into
the river is one of the pollution that people here at Beaufort have done.
According to the WWF, 100,000 marine mammals are killed by plastic rubbish
each year around the world. Aquatic life can become entangled in the plastic debris
which can cause strangulation or growth deformations. Floating plastics can be
mistaken for food, causing blockages within the marine life digestive systems
leading to eventual death.
One of the problem that marine life in Beaufort is people that live near the
padas river will just throw their waste to the river without hesitation.People here will
have no conscience about the damage they have done to the aquatic life in the
river it is consider as normal thing to do.
In my opnion,as citizen of beaufort I would like to educate the people of Beaufort
about conservation the river helding talk and campaign about the damage that we
have cause to our precious river.People need to know that polluting it further will
cause not just for aquatic life but also to us.The Beaufort district council can also
make harsh punishment for those who doesnt want to follow the rules of the
conservation the river
Truthfully,I dont know anything about marine conservation but when I was
introduced to this program,I was interested by the vast knowledge about marine life
. So I did my own search about the conservation and found out and was shocked
how our marine life has been destroy by our own hand. This justify that presevation
of our marine life is important so I was really hoping that I could be one of the lucky
person who can join this program.
Lastly,I would like to really participate this conservation program not because
of the field trip but the program offer is different from other program because it s
not just an ordinary program its a program that help me save part of the
world.Futhermore,if i successfully finish this program I will continue passed down
the knowledge that I gainand to the future generation so they too will know how to
conserve and take care our marine life.
