Class Descripion: Grade 7- Fleurdeliz

Time Allotment: 1 Hour

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the student must be able to:
A. read the story The Heroic Brother;
B. give insights about what they have learned from the story; and
C. write a reflection about the story The First Monkey

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: The Heroic Brother p. 55
Reference: Learning Package: Grade 7 English
Materials: Instructional Materials (Cartolina, Manila Paper, scotch tape etc.)

III. Procedure:
Prayer
Attendance
Classroom Management

A. Motivation: (5 minutes)
The teacher will give puzzle pieces of a picture of a hero. The teacher will
choose a student and will form the picture on the board.

B. Activity (20 minutes)

Unlocking of Difficulties
savage- not domesticated or under human control
fierce- violently hostile or aggressive in temperament
deceive- to cause to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid
gallantry- an act of marked courtesy
vanquish- to overcome in battle

After giving the difficult words, the teacher will have a choral reading of the
story.

C. Analysis: (10 minutes)

The teacher will ask the following questions to the students:
1. Who are the characters of the story?
2. Where did it happen?
3. From the story, what can you see in the forest?
4. What happened to the two brothers?
5. What happened to the people after knowing the experience of the two
brothers?

D. Abstraction (5 minutes)
The teacher will further discuss the story and the reason of its title.

E. Application (By group) (5 minutes)

The teacher will prepare strips of events in the story and the students will
arrange the plot of the story using the strips.

IV. Evaluation: (10 minutes)

Quiz:
In a sheet of paper, every student will complete the unfinished sentence.

V. Assignment: (5 minutes)
Study the lesson about simple and compound sentences.
