Images

Images can vary in the overall brightness, which is used to


support the emotion of the scene. The High- key lighting
means an overall brighter picture while Low key lighting
means an overall darker picture. This is then mid key
lighting which falls into the middle having an average
brightness.
The dramatic content of the scene will dictates its
brightness, normally you will see High key lighting is
favoured for upbeat scenes and Low key lighting is the
choice for slow or dramatic action.
Uses

High key and Low key refer to the pictures overall


brightness and parts of the frame can be illuminated
differently to make an affect on the attention or
composition. Using Low key lighting this can be brightened
to give a different perception while High key lighting can
make the image be dark to create a more suspense and
interesting composition.
