clean place.

4 Slubs This defect is the


result of short, thick,
or heavy place in the
yarn commonly
referred to as a slub.
5 Open This is the result of a
Reed bent reed wire leaving
a crack in the fabric.

6 Colored The fabric gets


Flecks contaminated during
the stage of weaving
where impurities get
entwined with the
woven product.
7 Drop This is an un woven
Stitch stitch caused either by
the yarn carrier not
having been set
properly or the stitch
having been knitted
too loosely.

8 Warp A distortion resulting


Burl from some superfluous
material such as a thick
slub, waste, or wild
yarn being removed
with a burling tool.
