Introduction
Data extracted from the source system is stored first of all in the PSA. After that one
of three things can happen to it:
- (It stays in the PSA is this possible?)
- It is loaded into the ODS only
- It is loaded into the ODS then into the InfoCube
- It is loaded directly into the ODS
Information
You want to know, for a given Datasource, where in BW will the data that is extracted
from the source system go. Into the PSA, ODS, InfoCube or any combination of. The
modelling section of the Administrator workbench can be used to obtain this
information.
Example
The DataSource YGT_PP_CONFS (Production Planning and Control --> Process
Order Confirmations) is an R/3 Datasource.
In RSA1 you need to find the InfoSource that corresponds to the dataSource. Use
the search facility to find the InfoSource (eg YGT_PP_CONFS).
For this example, we can see that: the transactional Data flows from the DataSource
to:
- The PSA
- The into the InfoCube
i.e. no ODS is used for this DataSource
Note
You can select 'Details' to see the technical information for the ODS objects, and
InfoCubes
Example
The following shows the data flow for the DataSource YGT_DOWNTIMES
(Production Planning and Control --> Unplanned Downtime).
For this example, we can see that: the transactional Data flows from the DataSource
to:
- The PSA (Object /BIC/B000047200)
- Then into the ODS (Object YGTTP_DT)
- Then into the InfoCube (Object YGTTPPP03)
Example
The following shows the data flow for the DataSource 1_CO_PA100Z200 (Finance
and Control Transaction Data - COPA).
For this example, we can see that: the transactional Data flows from the DataSource
to:
- The PSA (Object /BIC/B000028700)
- Then into the ODS (Object YGTFCOPA)
- Then into four InfoCubes (Objects YGTFCPA01, YGTFCCSES, YGTFCPA03,
YGTFCPA02)
