Viscosity

Objective :

To determine the viscosity of different type of liquid.

Apparatus :

Liquid substance
Ball guide
Measuring cylinder
Different type of diameter of ball
Stopwatch

Procedure

1. First, prepare three types of different fluid and fill in all the liquid in
measuring cylinder. Type of liquid are oil, dishwashing liquid and glacerin.

2. Take the measurement height for each liquid. Mark starting and ending
point on the cylinder to measure it distance and determine the traveling
time.
3. Take three different diameter of balls.

3.0 mm 3.5 mm 4.0 mm

4. Drop the ball into the measuring cylinder that fill with liquids and record
the travelling time for the ball from the starting surface till bottom of the
measuring cylinder.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 for the different diameter of ball and record the data.
6. Repeat all he procedure for the other type of liquid.
