Time Instructional Procedures and Strategies

Beginning the Lesson:


- Teacher will ask students to take their science book out.

- Teacher will introduce the lesson and objective.
Lesson: flexibility.
Objective: explain the meaning of flexibility and rigid, and also the
characteristics of each.

Developing the Lesson


- Teacher will ask students to open their book to page 52, and will ask
student to read the first paragraph.
- Teacher will discuss the key words: flexible and rigid.
Flexible: things that can bend, and can come back to the same shape.
15min Rigid: things that cannot bend at all.
- Teacher will pull out an example of a balloon. Teacher will demonstrate
the balloon experiment and will ask students to answer the three questions
from the book and write on the paper provided by the teacher.

b. What happens to balloons when you let air out?
c. Do all stretchy materials go back to the same shape, when you stop
stretching them?
- Teacher will then ask student to read the last paragraph of page 52.
- Teacher display few objects that are flexible and rigid.

Flexible: rubber, paper, body, cloth.
20 min Rigid: floor, brick, stone, pen, desk.
- Teacher will give a handout of having 12 questions. They have to
differentiate if it is flexible or rigid. During this time teacher will
distribute students worksheet from previous class.
- Teacher will play the same video again and will ask students to follow
along.

Closing the Lesson:


o Review the lesson:
10 min - Flexible things can bend and rigid things cannot bend.
- Flexible things can come back to shape but rigid things cannot.
