SUBJECT: Use of Laboratory for Science and Techology Fair 2017

Good day Maam!

We, the Research I class, represents the Chemical Engineering Department on the Science and Technology Fair
2017, would like to ask permission for the use of the Laboratory and execute an experiment on January 25, 2017
onwards until we finish our desired research. The following is our methods and procedure that will be conducted
during the experiment:

1. Preparation of wastewater
2. Mixing the coagulant with the wastewater while stirring it in a magnetic stirrer.
3. Measure pH and NTU levels.
4. Addition of flocculant while stirring it in a magnetic stirrer.
5. Let the solution settle. Record the time where the flocs separate from the wastewater, obtaining a clear liquid.
6. Measure again the pH and NTU levels.

Once, we get our desired value of pH and NTU levels, therefore, we can say we have successfully achieved our
research for the Fair. Were asking to prepare and/or reserve the following equipment and apparatuses for our
experiment:
36 250 mL Beaker 3 Stirring Rod
2 Graduated Cylinder 4 25 mL Pycnometer
3 Magnetic Stirrer Analytical Balance
1 Centrifuge 4 250 mL Volumetric Flask
4 Pipettor
These will be our basic needs as of now, further equipment and apparatuses that will be needed during the
experiment will be added and enlisted to our borrowers slip.
