Lecturer in Electronics (VLSI)

Electronics is a popular branch of science and technology. Computers, laptops, Smart

Phones are very common. Electronics is useful in defence equipments like radars,

sensors and control equipments. As powerful means they are becoming faster,

compact, handy and power saving device because of the VLSI (Very Large Scale

Integration) technology. The basic unit of VLSI circuit is called the transistor. The

integration of the transistor leads to the chip, more precisely it is called system on chip

(SoC). System on chip may contain analog, digital, mixed signal and radio frequency

functions and it is very common in mobile and computer industries. In India most of

the electronic items that we use are either imported from foreign countries or their

components are imported and assembled here. So electronic manufacturing becomes

costlier and is a great setback for the country. So Government of India has adopted an

electronic policy in the year 2012. The prime object of this policy is to promote self-

reliance in electronic manufacturing. Make in India, Skill India, Digital India and

other policies are now facilitating developed in this field. The computer applications

department of this university intends to enlarge and strengthen specialization in

electronics with emphasis in the field of very large scale integration system. This will

be relevant in the prevailing requirements of computerization and electronics subjects

in different department of the university, specially the computer applications and

physics department.
