s Did you guys ever feel like giving up on something?
Maybe because it was too hard or you did not like doing it?

I have too.

Developing the Lesson

5mins Today I am going to share little bit about me.
As you all know, I am from Korea.
But when I was 12, my family moved to China.
Because my parents are missionaries, I had to go with them.
At first, I was very excited. I was excited to meet new friends, and also
because of Chinese food.

But it was so different than what I thought. I started middle school. Which
is Senior school. The problem was I could not speak Chinese at all. All of
my teachers and classmates were Chinese.

Have you ever been to a place that you dont understand the language?

How did you feel? when someone does not understand you and you
cannot understand them?
- it can be very stressful and frustrating

On the first day of school, I cried. Because I could not understand

5mins anything.
I only knew how to say hello. Ni Hao

I really wanted to go back to Korea. I missed my friends who I had to

leave, and my teachers at school.

Because I could not understand the language, I felt like I am not included
in the class.

What do you think I did?

Yes I prayed. Because my parents were in China I could not go back to

Korea. I prayed to God to help me.

Lets read the Bible that I read at that time.

The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He
helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of
thanksgiving.
Psalms 28:7

What do you think happened next?

God gave me friends and wisdom to study Chinese.
I finished my middle school and high school in Chinese school.

Because God is my strength who helps me, I did not give up.

I want you to remember, whenever you face difficult problems or when

you
want to give up, we can always ask God to help us!

when you feel like giving up, what do we need to do?
